As I mentioned in a previous post, I will continue the Web Design Inspiration collection. Here is the fourth post that falls into this category; this time it’s about music websites. All of them are cool and will boost your inspiration. Initially, I thought that this post will be a boring collection of colorful websites enabling auto-play. The truth is that I am thrilled by the creativity of the designers! All these music sites deserve your attention.
Some websites are created by famous design agencies having no budget restrictions. It’s the case of Pharrell Williams that hired the best designers. Other sites are created by less known designers with limited budgets. However, their works are great and satisfy the highest design standards.
From all music websites I searched for, My United Way Voice has the most interesting story behind. It’s about a singing competition where talented people participate to convince people fighting against poverty. I appreciate the endeavors of the creators that ensured a balance between the formality of a charity project and the exuberance of a music website.
The idea of this website is brilliant. More or less, you listen to the music of the icebergs. I am impressed by their slogan “Scientist recorded their crying. And artists made them into songs”. You are invited to listen to their music and share how much time you listened to it.
Speaking about the website design I have only positive remarks. The only drawback is that that the website requires a lot of computer resources.
In terms of fan engagement, Pharrell Williams is one of the best music websites. Pharrell is a famous singer, and the website designers didn’t create any section to present him. Instead, they strengthened the relationship with the fans by allowing them to create cards.
Much more, the cards of the fans are based on the homepage – it’s a sign of appreciation from the artist. Of course, anyone can create these cards!
Initially, I thought that Sound from Torture sounds like the name of a heavy rock band. Well, my assumption is wrong! It’s another exciting website with an impressive story! It presents how in the past, but also in the current days, in some jails, music is used to torture people.
The design is fantastic, and the user experience delights you. Maybe the font size should be more prominent and more visible; what do you, am I wrong?
Yuto Yoshida is a talented clarinetist, and his website impressed me with its simplicity. It has nothing shiny or spectacular, but it manages to captivate the attention of the viewers. I consider that the website design is almost perfect.
However, I think that it should have an English version for a broader audience.
Red Bull is well-known for the actions aimed to make people loyal to the brand. Red Bull Records is a modern website targeting music lovers and young people. The design is superb, and the angled sections look really great!
Beoplay H5 are wireless earphones, and the website presentation is a design masterwork. Much more, it doesn’t look like a selling platform, it is a story that has the earphones as the main character.
In this context, it is no miracle to have good sales and a significant user engagement percentage!
We are living in a fast-changing world, but the design of the piano has remained the same for many years. Perhaps for too many years! Roland is a piano producer and here is a design concept that will make you say “wow.”
Not only the design of the piano is stunning, but also the design of the website stays apart. It impresses with captivating video backgrounds, complete explanations, and a discrete menu.
If you want to create music directly from your browser, you should visit this website. Massive Music is a great browser application that allows creating songs. The features are limited, but you should give it a try!
The website design is really cool, and it’s entirely matching to its purpose!
I wouldn’t have believed that FedEx has a site to delight users with music creation. However, this is FedEx website that lets you generate a soundtrack for a collet transportation. It seems an odd idea, but you will change your mind once you visit the site.
To be honest, I am not entirely enthusiast with the soundtracks’ quality, but I am stunned by the homepage background. It looks like a modern video game graphics.
Nordik Impakt is a festival held in France, Caen. Its presentation site is unique and outstanding. The homepage features a moving abstract background. The black and white color scheme emphasizes the background movement and creates a mystery feeling.
The menu is also original and creative; it has only three sections. However, each section is content-rich, and fans have all the needed information regarding the festival.
ALDA’s site gets the highest rating for storytelling and originality. ALDA is a concept for organizing electronic dance festivals, it truly connects people through music.
The vertical timeline works perfectly with the idea of this site. The users should scroll to consume content; you don’t have text area sections, just a line of content for each scroll movement. Video background successfully replaces the written text and make the site way more captivating.
Alexander Gadjiev is a piano master, and his portfolio is an example of refinement, aesthetics, and simplicity. It’s a one-page website based on a black and white color scheme.
It impresses with modern CSS and jQuery effects and big and bold typography.
Armin Van Buuren is a DJ that doesn’t need an introduction. His website is stunning and fully deserves its place on the list of the best music websites. I appreciate the fan-friendliness of the site; practically you have at a click distance everything you need about Armin.
The fonts used in the menu and logo are Armin-specific; it proves that his marketing and design teams go hand-in-hand and create a consistent brand.
This is the last presence in our honoring list of music websites…it’s funny and I hope that it will make you smile! Check out this emoji party and don’t forget to create your own one!
This is our collection of fantastic music websites. I hope that these sites boosted your inspiration level and you will design better websites. Feel free to share with us your opinion about these works; do you have any favorite?
